Just as waves crashing on distant shores, some billowing and magnificent, some brilliant, cascading gently upon the undertow,
We care,
We share,
We make treasured moments in time,
Leaving sentiments as precious as fine aged wine,
Thank you,
Thank me,
Thank we,
Echoes through time creating our delightful symphony,
In times of good, bad, and okay,
These memories of friendship forged as strong as steel stand untouched by time,
As a sacred honor that was yours and mine,
Always bringing back joyful memories to brighten each day,

I Accept Your Apology
As the first coffee bean was crushed for our morning brew,
From two sides of town different in perspective, demeanor and point of view,
Two cups were poured into matching ceramic mugs initialed me and you,
Two cups were poured into cardboard "to-hot-to-hold-to-go-cups" tightly held by hands used as a blanket to cover each other as we slept under the stars cold, black and blue,
One morning begin from last night’s humane end with a warm welcome from a lover or friend, a prayer, a dinner, then a nightcap and a plumped up comforter two overstuffed pillows afloat with imported goose feather blend,
One morning begin from an inhumane night that never quite ended since there was no one to welcome a damp spirit and shoes that had no where to go,
Nor no man nor woman to call family or friend,
I accept your apology,
Before you see,
The reflection in the mirror
The moment in time
when you have become me,
A man who needs a job today
who had a 40-hour workweek just yesterday,
A hazel eyed woman whose gaze is toward the ground to hide tears of shame cascading onto lips that no longer smile,
Do you see what I see?
If you did you would at least understand why,
Respectfully,
Reflectively,
Soulfully,
Intellectually,
As the world turns cold hearted
as we are dumped out of our homes,
With our dishes, babies, toothbrush and combs,
While the bankers on Wall Street await a Stimulus boost in electronic transfers ripped from our tax dollars we should have paid rent with,
diverted courtesy of Washington "good-ol-boys" paying out, "tax free money deals",
Then Bankers in Grey, black and blue freshly pressed suits and matching shined shoes, skip off in two’s, Celebrating life at the top of the world, sucking up two Martini’s at their favorite lunch café to order the special of the day expense account free meal,
This is why I say,
I accept your apology,
On this sorrowful day when we no longer kept the fellowship pledge of honor simply stated and said,
We are our brother’s and sister’s keepers,
No matter what end of the piece of the day’s sustenance I was holding,
The end held and given with a hug and a hopeful prayer for a better tomorrow,
Or the end held and accepted with humility while saying a prayer of gratitude and thanks,
I accept your apology.
